MELVINDALE — A black Cadillac parked at the Melrose Motel April 1 with an invalid license plate led to the vehicle’s impounding and the discovery of excessive marijuana in the vehicle.

The vehicle owner, a 24-year-old man, did not have insurance for the vehicle. He also had 21.4 ounces of marijuana in the car, which exceeds the 2.5 ounces a person may legally possess for personal use in Michigan.

The marijuana, along with $4,100 in cash, were seized, and a felony warrant is being sought for selling drugs.
