DEARBORN — A black 2021 Ford F-150 was impounded and towed the afternoon of March 4 after a young man decided to do doughnuts and drive it in an intentionally reckless manner on Ford Road in front of Fordson High School.

The young man, who had never acquired a driver’s license, drifted in the westbound lanes of Ford Road, which disrupted the flow of traffic. He then accelerated and wove in and out of the traffic lanes without signaling. The man then cut off another driver when he ran a red light at Ford Road and Chase Road.

A video of the reckless driving was posted on social media, and when police officers ran the license plate number, they went to the address of the pickup’s registered owner.

They spoke to the young man’s mother, then to him. He admitted to “being stupid” and having no excuse for his reckless behavior.

He was cited for reckless driving and for driving without a license. He was told to contact 19th District Court for an appearance date.
