MELVINDALE — A 22-year-old Melvindale man, Maherr Salah Jaeran, was arrested Feb. 1 in Warren when he walked into President Joseph Biden’s motorcade route and allegedly assaulted a police officer who tried to stop him.
He was arraigned Feb. 2 for assaulting, resisting and obstructing a police officer, a two-year felony.
He was the only person out of about 200 people protesting who was arrested. The demonstrators were calling for a cease fire in Palestine and were opposed to Biden’s support of Israeli.
