RIVERVIEW — A woman who wanted to attend country music star Chase Matthew’s concert Feb. 29 at St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit was conned out of $200 by a man on social media who claimed to be the musician’s manager.

The con artist said he would sell her two backstage passes and would pick her up in the tour bus at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 29 outside St. Andrew’s Hall. He was, however, a no-show.

When the woman filed a police report, she said the man asked her to help him cash three checks before the concert date, which he sent to her by priority mail. However, she was unsuccessful in cashing the checks for him, and submitted them to police officers as evidence.
