ALLEN PARK — An identity thief from Belleville, Ill., took out a $24,656 loan for heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment from the Service Finance Company in November by fraudulently using an Allen Park woman’s identity information.
The victim, who filed a police report Jan. 3, discovered the fraud when the loan company sent her the first installment billing for the loan.
When the victim contacted credit agencies, she discovered that two other fraudulent accounts had been opened in her name. She was advised to flag her credit reports for future activity.
