MELVINDALE — A drunken driver in a Chevy Malibu who crashed into a Chevy Blazer Dec. 23 on Outer Drive near Hanna Street fled on foot after admitting to the other driver that he was drunk.

The man, who evaded capture, was described as black, with curly hair and wearing a black hoodie and light-colored pants.

When police officers searched the abandoned Malibu, they found an opened bottle of liquor on the front passenger seat. The investigation is ongoing.
