TAYLOR — A 52-year-old homeless man in a tent encampment northwest of Telegraph Road and I-94 was helped by first responders and taken to Corewell Health Hospital in Taylor Dec. 1 after a 47-year-old homeless woman reported that he had been yelling for about an hour and she was concerned about his welfare.

The man was found slumped over a shopping cart. When a police officer woke him, he began to speak and yell incoherently. He was sweaty and had dilated pupils.

During a pat-down weapon search, a glass vial of suspected crack cocaine was found, which was taken into evidence. He was cited for possession of a controlled substance, then turned over to medical first responders.
