MELVINDALE — A traffic stop for a blue Ford Taurus being driven without a license plate on Schaefer Road near Hess Street the morning of Dec. 16 led to the arrest of the driver, who had outstanding arrest warrants, as well as crack cocaine and pills in the car.

The driver, a 36-year-old woman, said she had just purchased the car the day before. However, she did not have a valid title or car insurance.

The woman had a felony drug warrant from the Westland Police Department and a fraud warrant from the Dearborn Heights Police Department.

The woman was turned over to Westland police for the outstanding warrant, and a ticket was mailed to the seller of the Taurus for failing to transfer the vehicle title following the sale.
