HEIGHTS — An early morning vehicle theft was thwarted Nov. 29 when the car alarm sounded on a white 2014 Kia Optima parked in front of a residence in the 8000 block of Glengary Street.

The driver’s side rear window was shattered and the vehicle’s steering column was damaged. The driver’s door was left open, but nothing was stolen from the vehicle.

The victim, who had recently been discharged from the hospital, said her vehicle had been parked in the roadway for several days prior to its attempted theft. There were no nearby surveillance cameras and no suspects.
