TRENTON — A police officer helped extinguish a fire under the hood of a Kia Soul the morning of Nov. 19 on Newman Street until firefighters arrived.
The vehicle owner said he had added oil to the vehicle earlier that day when he stopped for gas before driving it from Rochester Hills to Trenton. He said the vehicle started on fire only after it was parked. The man tried to extinguish the blaze with a garden hose until a police officer arrived with a dry chemical fire extinguisher.
