TAYLOR – A woman bicyclist was struck and killed by a semi-truck the afternoon of Nov. 14 as she was crossing Ecorse Road on northbound Monroe Boulevard.

Police Lt. Frank Canning said the semi-truck was turning right from Monroe Boulevard onto Ecorse Road when he hit the bicyclist, who died on the scene from her injuries.

Canning said the traffic bureau is still investigating the fatal incident. The victim’s name has not been released pending positive identification.

Media accounts indicate that the woman was older and riding a three-wheeled bike.

Police officials are asking nearby businesses for any exterior surveillance camera footage that might have captured the crash.
