TRENTON — A Trenton man reported Sept. 28 that an identity thief used his frequent flyer account with American Airlines on Sept. 21 to rent a vehicle with Budget Car Rental in New Orleans.
The victim said the identity thief used the vehicle from Sept. 22 through Oct. 18, fraudulently using 207,600 of his frequent flyer miles, which had a $6,124 value.
He said he was informed of the rental via email from American Airlines, but he did not receive the email until the rental transaction had been completed.
