RIVERVIEW — A 27-year-old Brownstown Township man was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor at 3:57 a.m. Sept. 27 on Sibley Road near Hilltop Drive.
The man was seen speeding while revving the engine of his black Chevrolet Camaro and driving 68 mph in a 35 mph zone.
The suspect smelled of alcohol, his eyes were glossy and his speech was slurred. He admitted to having had several beers at a gathering in Wyandotte earlier.
The man failed standardized field sobriety tests and refused to take a preliminary breath test. His vehicle was impounded and towed, and a search warrant was obtained for a blood draw.
He was taken to Corewell Health Hospital in Trenton for a blood draw, then was held at the police station until he was sober and released.
