TAYLOR — A check in a mailing envelope placed in a mailbox near Kinyon Street and Monroe Boulevard was retrieved by an unauthorized person and used to commit check fraud on July 31, the victim, a 46-year-old Taylor man, reported on Aug. 18 to police officials.
The victim said his check was used to fraudulently withdraw $2,400 from his credit union checking account, using a cell phone mobile application.
The man was given a police report number to initiate an investigation with his credit union.
