ALLEN PARK — A woman who was caught trying to leave Target, 3100 Fairlane Drive, about 1 p.m. June 4 with $229 in unpaid merchandise was released by loss prevention personnel without the police being called after being told she was banned from the store.

However, several hours later, the woman returned to the store and tried to leave with $349 worth of merchandise for which she did not pay. This time, loss prevention personnel contacted police officers, and the woman was cited for retail fraud.

Surveillance footage of her theft and receipts for the merchandise she attempted to take were provided to the responding police officers.
