RIVERVIEW — A 39-year-old Trenton woman, an off-duty nurse, was arrested at 4 a.m. June 4 for operating while intoxicated with a high blood-alcohol content.
The woman, who was seen making wide, uncoordinated turns in both a parking lot and on the roadway near the intersection of Sibley Road and Fort Street, admitted to having been drinking earlier at a Wyandotte bar.
Her speech was slurred, her eyes were red and glossy and she smelled of intoxicants.
The woman attempted standardized field sobriety tests, which she failed to pass.
A preliminary breath test was administered, and the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.179, more than twice the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
She was handcuffed and taken to the Riverview police station, where she was booked and held, and her vehicle was impounded and towed.
