TAYLOR — A 43-year-old Dearborn woman’s silver 2003 Honda Civic was sideswiped in a hit-and-run the night of Nov. 7 at the intersection of Monroe Boulevard and Ecorse Road in Taylor.

The victim said she was turning left onto northbound Monroe Boulevard from eastbound Ecorse Road when the driver of a white 2008 Ford Escape, who had a red light, turned right onto northbound Monroe Boulevard from eastbound Ecorse Road, side-swiping the passenger side of the Honda Civic.

The driver did not stop to exchange information and fled north on Monroe Boulevard.

The victim was able to take a photo of the license plate, and the driver matched the description of the owner, a 61-year-old Detroit woman, who was sent a written contact letter by Taylor police officials.
