MELVINDALE — A man who said he took his coworker’s pickup Oct. 22 to drive himself home when the vehicle owner started using controlled substances on the job site was arrested Oct. 23 for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

The driver, who had the vehicle keys, said he had told his coworker that he would drop the vehicle off at a neutral location for him to retrieve.

The gray 2002 Dodge Ram pickup was impounded and towed, while the driver was arrested and taken to the Dearborn police station, where he was booked and held.
