SOUTHGATE — A German shepherd-mix dog who was running loose on Allen Road near Brest Street was secured Oct. 8 and transported by police officers to an animal shelter.
A motorist had already stopped and was trying to get the dog safely out of the roadway when police officers arrived on the scene. They were able to get the friendly dog into the back of the patrol car for a quick ride-along. The dog did not have a collar or tag.
