TRENTON — An intoxicated indigent man slumped on a bench in Rotary Park the night of Sept. 14 was taken to Beaumont Hospital, Taylor, after he told a police officer that he was experiencing chest pain.
The man, with whom the police officer had experienced similar encounters, smelled of intoxicants, his speech was slurred and he had a pint of vodka with a quarter of the alcohol remaining.
The man also had a black eye, which he said occurred two days earlier as the result of an assault in Southgate.
