TAYLOR — An identity thief used a 42-year-old Taylor woman’s personal information to open a DTE account at house in northwest Detroit, the victim reported Sept. 13, and said the account holder ran up a $6,041 bill over the past two years.

The victim said she has no connection with the address at which the fraudulent account was registered, and said she was advised by DTE to file a police report to initiate a fraud investigation.
