SOUTHGATE — A black ornamental lamp post near Trenton and Eureka roads was discovered to be on the ground the morning of June 18, near the entrance to the MJR Cinema complex.
There were no marks on it consistent with being struck by a vehicle, and no tool marks were found on it, so it was assumed that strong wind gusts the night before may have felled it.
Department of Public Works employees were summoned to cordon off the area and remove the debris.
