TAYLOR — A 48-year-old Taylor woman was charged with operating while impaired the night of April 14 after she struck two vehicles in separate incidents.
At Goddard and Pardee roads, police responded to a two-car injury accident, and discovered that the driver of a black 2011 Dodge Avenger had crashed into a black 2010 Chrysler 300 with rear end damage.
The Dodge Avenger driver was unable to find her driver’s license, her speech was slurred and her eyelids appeared heavy. She had difficulty exiting her vehicle, smelled strongly of intoxicants and had difficulty performing standardized field sobriety tests.
Dispatch then informed the police officers that the woman may have also struck a vehicle at Telegraph and Goddard.
A preliminary breath test was administered, and the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.236, three times the 0.8 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
She was then handcuffed and taken to Beaumont Hospital, Taylor, for a blood draw, and her vehicle was impounded and towed.
