RIVERVIEW — A 45-year-old Riverview woman was cited for operating under the influence of alcohol at 2 a.m. March 19 after a police officer initiated a traffic stop when he saw her speeding on Grange Road.

The woman, who slurred her words, smelled strongly of intoxicants, and said she had only had one drink. However, she failed multiple standard field sobriety tests.

A preliminary breath test was administered, and the woman had a blood-alcohol content of 0.083, more than the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.

Her vehicle was impounded and towed, and she was taken to the police station, where she was booked and held.
