TAYLOR — A 37-year-old Taylor woman was cited for shoplifting the night of Jan. 14 at Walmart, 7555 Telegraph Road.

She also was cited for possession of narcotic paraphernalia after a crack pipe was found in her purse with the stolen merchandise.

The woman was seen via surveillance cameras placing items in her purse, which was in a shopping cart. Her companion paid for his items at a self-checkout station, but she made no attempt to pay for the items concealed in her handbag.

The eight stolen items had a collective value of $32, and were returned to Walmart, which confirmed that they would prosecute for the theft.
