HEIGHTS — A resident reported to police that on Sept. 3 he received an email from his bank that his account had been overdrawn. When he checked his account, the resident said that $117,109.46 had been taken out of his account.

He contacted the bank branch in Dearborn Heights and spoke with the manager who then contacted the bank from which the money was withdrawn. The manager said that two unidentified people walked into a bank in Texas with the resident’s physical identification in hand.

According to the report, the two people withdrew money from the account and left the bank. The account has been flagged and closed by the bank.

The manager was informed by the bank in Texas that the transaction seemed suspicious. Police were told by the resident that he is working closely with the manger to resolve the issue on the bank side.

The bank informed the resident that a check will be mailed out to him in the amount that was stolen.

There was no further description of the suspects provided by the resident.
