June 30, 2013 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN – The public can view the final presentation of conceptual
designs for future potential development in the area around the new Intermodal Passenger Rail Station in west Dearborn at www.cityofdearborn.org/city-departments/city-plan.

The final in a series of interactive public presentations was held June 20 to tap into the community’s vision for the west Dearborn area, which will be anchored by the new train station set to open in 2014.

A final report, which will reflect comments made at the session, will be available soon.

The final conceptual designs follow fundamentals of Transit Oriented Development, which uses transportation hubs as launching points for re-inventing existing areas, creating a unique sense of place, and driving economic activity.

At the meeting, the final concept plan with images and implementation recommendations were presented.
