Thousands gathered Thursday to bid farewell to Taylor police Cpl. Matthew Edwards, who was killed July 23 while responding to a break-in at Coppertree Apartments. Top, hundreds of motorcycle police lead the procession from Beacon Baptist Church past City Hall to Michigan Memorial Park. Second from top, Edwards’ patrol car, emblazoned with his badge number on both sides, follows the motorcycles. Third, Edwards’ public safety brothers stand in waiting as mourners pay their final respects at the church before the procession begins. Above, Cpl. Paul O’Connor collects money for Edwards’ family on Telegraph Road near Van Born during the recent Telegraph Tomorrow Cruise.
