  • A woman reported the afternoon of Nov. 2 that an Illinois man who purchased a 2014 Mercedes from her on April 25 mistakenly received a Michigan license plate registered in her name in the trunk of the car. The purchaser failed to return the plate to her, so on May 8 she canceled the plate with the Michigan Secretary of State.

  • A loss prevention officer at Old Navy, 3260 Fairlane Drive, reported that a woman entered the store the evening of Oct. 30 with an empty shopping bag, and partially filled the bag with baby clothes before moving on to the women's section, concealing items under her gray pullover shirt and inside the black pants that she was wearing.

  • A 25-year-old Detroit woman who had more than $400 cash with her was taken in custody the evening of Oct. 12 for attempting to shoplift a $35 cell phone case from Target, 3100 Fairlane Drive, by concealing the item under her arm. Her vehicle, a 2016 Ford, was impounded and towed. She was charged with retail fraud and released on bond.
