  • A cashier at Home Depot, 3163 Fairlane Drive, a 20-year-old Melvindale woman, was taken into custody the afternoon of July 2 for embezzlement. Between April 21 and June 27 the woman allegedly took $1,500 worth of cash and gift cards. Store personnel provided the dates and amounts of cash register shortages and surveillance video evidence. She was taken into custody, booked at the Allen Park police station, then taken to the Dearborn police station and housed.

  • An Xbox One S with two controllers and five games, plus an iPod Touch, were stolen from a 2012 Silver GMC Arcadia parked near Champaign Park from 3 to 5 p.m. June 15 for a baseball tournament. The owner said he may have forgotten to lock the vehicle. The Xbox One S and controllers were valued at $300, and the games – Plants vs. Zombies, FIFA 15, Modern Warfare 2, Minecraft and Star Wars – were valued at $250. The iPod Touch was valued at $250. There was no damage to the vehicle.

  • Shoplifting shaving supplies resulted in a retail fraud citation the night of June 2 for a 37-year-old Detroit woman, who attempted to conceal $290 worth of shaving supplies inside a vest she was wearing, and a $50 pair of Sketcher shoes in her pants pockets at Meijer, 3565 Fairlane Drive.

  •  A 44-year-old Detroit man tried to return two comforters that he placed in his cart the afternoon of June 6 while inside Target, 3100 Fairlane Drive. He was given credit on a merchandise return card for the first item, but was told he could only exchange the second comforter for items of equal value that day.

The employee confessed when confronted by loss prevention, and was fired. He was taken into custody and booked on charges of embezzlement.

  • A 23-year-old Allen Park woman was reported by witnesses the afternoon of April 11 after she nearly hit several other motorists and was veering all over the road, with her right front passenger side wheel down to the rim. The woman had stopped and parked at Allen Park High School, where a witness boxed her in until officers arrived.
