  • A man living in the 14900 block of Morris Avenue reported the evening of Jan. 4 that a backpack containing his Nintendo Switch home video game system, valued at $250, was stolen out of his unlocked car, which was parked overnight on the street in front of his residence. He said the car's center console and glove box were rummaged through, but nothing else was taken.

The purchaser failed to return the plate to her, so on May 8 she canceled the plate with the Michigan Secretary of State.

  • A 25-year-old Detroit woman who had more than $400 cash with her was taken in custody the evening of Oct. 12 for attempting to shoplift a $35 cell phone case from Target, 3100 Fairlane Drive, by concealing the item under her arm. Her vehicle, a 2016 Ford, was impounded and towed. She was charged with retail fraud and released on bond.
