Credit union expands scholarship program for members

Zeal Credit Union offers two new scholarship awards for members in 2019. In addition to seven college scholarships awarded annually to graduating high school seniors, the credit union will award two continuing education scholarships for recipients, who are not currently high school seniors, but will attend a college, university or technical school in the fall.

Each of the scholarships are $2,000 for a total of $18,000 to be awarded. All winners and their family members will be recognized at Zeal Credit Union’s 64th Annual Membership meeting on March 27 at the Dearborn Inn.

Scholarship applications and detailed information are available online at www.HardWorkingScholarship.com. All applications must be submitted electrically no later than 11 p.m. Feb. 24.

Since the scholarship program was introduced in 1995, nearly $250,000 has been awarded to deserving and hardworking recipients.

“We are dedicated to supporting higher education and encouraging academic excellence,” said Tiffany Sweet, youth and community development coordinator for Zeal Credit Union. “With this commitment in mind, we designed our 2019 scholarship program to include members who are continuing their education.”
