Dearborn Hills launches new menu, hosts activities through September

DEARBORN — You don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy new offerings and events at Robert Herndon Dearborn Hills Golf Course, operated by the city’s Recreation & Parks Department. The golf course will host a variety of public events in the coming weeks.

On July 30, the course’s Grill Room will launch its new menu, under the auspices of new Executive Chef Peter Veach. The Grill Room is open 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and the new menu is available at

“Music on the Patio” will be featured beginning at 5 p.m. Aug. 9. Live music and a cash bar will highlight the evening, and items may be ordered from the Grill Room menu.

On Aug. 10, the course will offer its first “Nine and Dine,” featuring nine holes of golf and a cart, followed by a buffet dinner, for $34. Non-golfers can enjoy the buffet dinner for $19. The event begins at 6 p.m. Reservations, made by calling 313-565-4653 are required.

The course will host “Pizza on the Patio” Wednesdays, Aug. 15 and 29, during which patrons can order either Margarita, BBQ Chicken or Diavola Pizza from the Grill Room menu for $8. A cash bar will also be available.

On Aug. 23, Fifty Amp Fuse will perform at Dearborn Hills as part of the city’s popular “Music Under the Stars” free outdoor summer concert series, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Patrons are asked to bring a blanket or lawn chair.

“Music Under the Stars” will return to the course Sept. 6 in the final concert of the summer series, featuring the Dearborn Big Band.

Dearborn Hills will host “Ladies Day” Aug. 24, offering 18 holes of golf with a cart, a pre-round meal, an after-round lunch and awards ceremony, closest to the pin and longest drive contests, and a beer and wine bar for $67.
