Cruisin’ Dearborn Returns to kick off Homecoming festival

DEARBORN — Dozens of historic cars and motorcycles will cruise the streets of Dearborn Aug. 3 to kick off the festivities at the 2018 Dearborn Homecoming festival for Cruisin’ Dearborn.

The cruise, presented by Les Stanford Chevrolet Cadillac, will begin at 7 p.m. at the Dearborn Police Department, 16099 Michigan Ave. and will run through downtown west Dearborn, ending at Ford Field Park for a classic car show with food and entertainment. The vehicles will be on show until 10 p.m. at Homecoming.

Registration for Cruisin’ Dearborn is $25 per vehicle, and includes a $5 voucher to be used at the nonprofit food vendor tents at Homecoming. Registration can be completed online at or by calling 313-584-6100. The event is open to classic vehicles ranging in model years from 1933 to 1991.

A “Best in Show” award will also be presented at this year’s event.

This year, the cruise is limited to 125 cars and 50 motorcycles, which will receive certificates of participation, dash plaques, and cruiser gift bags, sponsored by Jack Demmer Ford.

“Every year this is a visual feast for the eyes and we look forward to welcoming classic cruisers from all over metro Detroit again this year to kick off the annual Dearborn Homecoming festival,” DACC President Jackie Lovejoy said. “We’re delighted to include 50 classic motorcycles this year.”

“Cruisin’ Dearborn has become a summertime favorite for our community and classic car enthusiasts all over the metro Detroit region,” said Kelli Vanden Bosch, DACC director of events.

The 39th Annual Dearborn Homecoming festival is presented by the city of Dearborn and the nonprofit Dearborn Community Fund, and runs Aug. 3 to 5 with three days of entertainment, family activities, and food sales and informational booths operated by community service groups.
