The National Day of Prayer was celebrated in Dearborn May 3 by religious leaders, elected officials, community members, police offices, firefighters and residents at the Dearborn Administrative Center, 16901 Michigan Ave. During the celebration, those in attendance each read prayers written for courts, cities and residents, public safety workers, armed forces, natural disasters, families, education, elected officials and more. Communities around the country unite to observe the day on the first Thursday in May since it was proclaimed in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan.
