Groundbreaking for new Dearborn Animal Shelter

Phase one of the site, at 16121 Michigan Ave., involves excavating asphalt to prep ground for foundation and building the new adoption center which will be completed in fall 2018. “We’re so excited to finally see our dreams coming to fruition," Dearborn Animal Shelter Executive Director Elaine Greene said. "Our employees and supports along with the public have waited a long time for the new shelter.” A formal groundbreaking is planned for Oct. 17 at the site.
