Southern Wayne County Chamber to host first awards ceremony honoring Downriver businesswomen

Nomination forms now available for the Women of Achievement Awards

TAYLOR — The Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber of Commerce will host it premiere Women of Achievement Awards luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Holiday Inn Conference & Banquet Center in Southgate.

The event will showcase women in business in the Downriver region. The event will include a keynote address, lunch, and an awards ceremony complete with award recipient videos.

The SWCRC will recognize some of the most outstanding women in the region with the “Leadership Award,” “Entrepreneur Award,” and “Unsung Heroine Award.” Of course, men will not be left out as we honor a leader in our community who is a champion for women in business leadership with the “Community Award.”

“We are honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to recognize some of the most influential women in our Downriver region with this prestigious awards luncheon,” SWCRC President Ron Hinrichs said. “We are grateful for our friends and partners at Beaumont, and our Silver Sponsor BASF Corporation for making this wonderful event possible.”

Tickets are $40 each, or $350 for a table of 10. Community Sponsorships, including a table of 10 and recognition are $450. Registration is open at or by calling 734-284-6000. Prices will increase closer to the event.
