LINCOLN PARK – A Lincoln Park man pleaded no contest last Thursday in the Aug. 31 death of a motorcyclist and is set for sentencing Feb. 17.

Kyle Leo Galeski, 23, will be sentenced before Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Richard M. Skutt on charges of operating with a suspended, revoked or denied license and reckless driving causing death. Galeski pleaded no contest to the charges.

Galeski could face up to 15 years in prison and a $2,500 to $10,000 fine in the death of Dennis Thomas, 38, also a Lincoln Park resident.

Galeski reportedly was driving erratically throughout the city in a Ford F-150 pickup about 1 p.m. Aug. 31. Police said residents in the area reported the man was driving over lawns in the area of Dix-Toledo and I-75 interchange.

A few minutes later people called 911 saying the driver of the truck struck the motorcyclist and the cyclist was pinned under the pickup with his motorcycle on fire.
