SEMBA hosts ‘Growing for Wildlife’ meeting Feb. 15

WESTLAND — The Southeast Michigan Butterfly Association will host a Tea Cup Raffle at 7 p.m. Feb.15 at Nankin Mills, 33175 Ann Arbor Trail.

Admission is free to SEMBA members, and $3 for non-members.

John DeLisle, principal ecologist of Natural Community Services, will talk on “Growing for Wildlife.”

“How do we create gardens that satisfy a certain need for aesthetic order and balance and at the same time provide refugia for all the bees, bugs, and butterflies that will call it home,” DeLisle said. “How does one create a native plant garden that the neighbors will study with delight, and still incite nature’s buzz?”

Parking is accessible from Hines Drive or Ann Arbor Trail.
