Downriver venues offering options for New Year’s Eve

going-placesc    If you haven’t made plans for New Year’s Eve and are concerned about the availability of reservations, the Bentley Banquet and Event Center in Wyandotte, The Arena in Allen Park, The Orlando Familia Banquet Center in Riverview, and the Trenton Village Theatre are among the venues that will welcome you.

The Bentley

The Bentley, the former Italian American Club, which underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation during the past year, promises a spectacular New Year’s dinner show, a spokeswoman said.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., and the show will start at 8 p.m.
On the program will be the Legends Live Tribute to Dion, the Blues Brothers, Reba McEntire, Lou Rawls and Jerry Lee Lewis.
The menu will include Michigan Cherry Salad, Atlantic Salmon with Bearnaise Sauce, Pan-Seared Chicken with Tarragon Mustard Sauce, Beef Bordelaise, Mostaccioli with Palomino Sauce, and Tiramisu.

The Arena

A New Year’s Eve celebration with a Prom Night theme will be held at The Arena, which is part of Thunderbowl Lanes, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Black-tie and prom attire are encouraged because a prom king and queen will be chosen from among the guests, said party planner Bob Shelby. Although the party is designed to attract a younger crowd, older adults are welcome, too, he said.
Tickets, $50 and $80, will include two drink tickets, dancing to music by a DJ, a midnight buffet, bowling and free photos. VIP booths for 10 people also will be available, Shelby said.

A seven-course dinner with a premium open bar and continuous entertainment by Danny Wild & The Tender Years Band will highlight New Year’s Eve at the Orlando Familia Banquet Center, where doors will open at 8 p.m.
Menu items will include prime rib, chicken Marsala, roast pork, mostaccioli with meat sauce, bow ties with Alfredo sauce, green beans amandine and salad. The dessert will be chocolate mousse.
Celebrants will receive party favors and will drink a champagne toast to 2017 at midnight. A continental breakfast will conclude the party.

Zonjic jam

Flutist Alexander Zonjic will host Grammy-nominated keyboardist Jeff Lorber and Serieux, a Motown Temptations review, at a New Year’s Eve
“Jam 2017” concert at the Trenton Village Theatre.
Doors will open at 9:30 p.m., and the concert will start at 10 p.m. The event will include a champagne toast at midnight, gourmet desserts, door-prize drawings and photo opportunities with the artists.
