DEARBORN — A Dearborn Heights teenager died after he struck a vehicle while driving his motorcycle on Warren Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 28.
Police responded to the intersection of Warren Avenue and Jonathan where there investigation revealed that the speed was a clear factor in the crash.
The 19-year-old Mohammad Hazime was driving west on Warren on his Suzuki motorcycle when he hit a Jeep Cherokee that was traveling east on Warren near Jonathan.
Witnesses said that Hazime’s body flew and slid down Warren about a block after the crash.
Hazime did not posses a valid motorcycle endorsement, and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, police said.
The crash is currently under investigation.
“Our condolences go out to this young man’s family and friends, but this is another example of an inexperienced motorcycle operator driving in a reckless manner,” Police Chief Ronald Haddad said. “This is our fourth critical motorcycle accident in the past four months and we are urging the community to hold each other accountable for safe driving.”
