Free outdoor concerts in Dearborn continue through Aug. 25

Concerts in west and east downtowns, city parks

DEARBORN — Free outdoor concerts are underway in the city’s downtown business districts and city parks, and will continue through Aug. 25.

Downtown east Dearborn’s signature concert series, Jazz on the Ave, is at City Hall Park, 13615 Michigan Ave. Concerts are 7 to 9 p.m., rain or shine.

The remaining 2016 schedule is:

• July 20: Demetrius “Krayon” Nabors with special guest Brandon Rose
• July 27: Rayse Biggs
• Aug. 3: Nick Colionne
• Aug. 10: Gregg Karukas
• Aug. 17: Alexander Zonjic with special guest Steve Cole

The west downtown concerts take place in the parking lot behind Bryant Library, 22100 Michigan Ave. These Friday Nites Music and Food Truck Rallies begin at 5 p.m. and run until 9 p.m.

The remaining performances are:

• July 22: The Muggs (Blues Rock)
• Aug. 12: The Wrenfields (Rock, Alternative Country)
• Aug. 26: The Beat Club (Beatles Tribute)

New this year is a Beer Garden featuring a variety of craft beers for $5.

Food truck rallies take place during each concert, offering a selection of foods, from fancy hot dogs to Middle Eastern fare.

“Music Under the Stars,” free concerts hosted by the Dearborn Recreation and Parks Department, take place Thursday nights at 7:30 p.m.

On Aug. 11, The Beat Club Beatles tribute band comes to the Dunworth Pool Deck at Levagood Park. The pool will be open free of charge during the concert.

Wrapping up the series on Aug. 25 at Dearborn Hills Golf Course, 1300 S. Telegraph Road, is classic rock cover band The Phoenix Theory.
