DEARBORN — A Dearborn police officer is under investigation for the alleged groping of a woman during a traffic stop, according to WXYZ Channel 7.

The suspected officer has since been suspended without pay and will remain unnamed because he has not been charged.

Police Chief Ronald Haddad said the accusations are being taken very seriously. He also said no one the department reached out to would confirm exact details of the incident.

Investigators are searching more into the woman’s story and allegations.

“We can confirm an ongoing investigation,” Haddad told Channel 7 on June 17. “Given the nature of the allegations, no other statements will be made at this time.”

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office would not confirm the allegations, but said a warrant request is being reviewed and no charges have issued.

Haddad did not return calls for additional comment.
