HEIGHTS — Dearborn Heights resident Kristina Howarth, 38, was arraigned on multiple felonies March 29 in an alleged child sex sting.
Howarth was charged in 41B District Court in Clinton Township with one count of using a computer to communicate with another to commit a crime and two counts of child sexually abusive activity via video link.
She was given a $75,000 bond cash or surety and could face up to 20 years in prison for each charge if convicted.
The charges came after Howarth attempted to arrange a sexual encounter between a man and his underage daughter, who ended up being undercover detective.
Howarth reportedly used online messaging and phone calls to communicate with the detective several days before the meeting.
The Macomb Area Computer Enforcement detective and Howarth set up a planned meeting on March 28 after she agreed to the sexual enactor with the father and daughter.
Howarth was arrested by Macomb County Sheriff’s Department authorities when she arrived for the prearranged meeting.
“The woman expressed a willingness to have sex with who she thought was a father and daughter,” the Macomb County Sheriff’s office said in a statement.
Howarth is scheduled to back in court for a preliminary hearing of the evidence against April 11.
