Take an early walk down the aisle or in this case aisles at the Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site in Shelby Township during their second Wedding Show from 1 to 5 p.m. March 20.
All facets of the wedding industry will be represented, including caterers, florists, hotels, equipment rental companies, linen rental firms, photographers, event and day-of planners and coordinators, bakeries, jewelry dealers, invitation consultants, hair and nail stylists, makeup experts, musicians, officiates and many more interesting genres of event services and products will be showcased.
“This is not only a great way to learn about potential vendors but to tour the historic venue and even view an classic Packard car or two,” Packard Event Coordinator Mary Anne Demo said. “Another unique aspect and perk of this show is that upcoming bridal couples will have the ability to speak with couples recently married at the site, who are excited to share their experiences plus their lists of do’s and don’ts.
“Additionally, the first 200 attendees will receive a complementary info bag complete with vendor contact information and some other goodies, too. There will also be food sampling opportunities and specialty music throughout the even.”
This spectacular 14-acre site is rich in Detroit automotive history and was established in 1927 by The Packard Motor Car Co. The tree-lined boulevard is adjacent to multiple Albert Kahn-designed buildings, and event proceeds help with ongoing renovation at the site.
It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable foundation.
Admission is free. The Packard Proving Grounds is at 49965 Van Dyke in Shelby Township.
