DEARBORN — Spring. It’s a time of renewal, of looking forward.
If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, looking forward can be very difficult, at times impossible. You don’t have to do it alone. Howe-Peterson Funeral Home welcomes the community to attend its free, nondenominational grief support groups for spring 2016. These groups meet for six weeks beginning April 11 for six weeks.
Helping Hands brings together children ages 5 to 12 who share the experience of having lost a loved one. It offers a safe environment for communicating feelings and learning coping skills through creation of artwork, storytelling and group exercises.
Families bringing children for this group should arrive at 6 p.m.
Teen Connection reaches out to teens ages 13 to 17 and encourages them to work through their grief in a secure atmosphere.
In Journey Through Grief adults share memories and work through the physical and emotional sides of grief.
All groups meet at Ford Senior Activity Center, 6750 Troy in Taylor.
