DEARBORN — Police are investigating the death of a 60-year-old man who was found dead in his house Feb. 21, possibly from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The incident began in the area of Snow and Chestnut streets when police received a call for a domestic situation.
The woman said her husband pointed a firearm at her during the argument between the couple about 11 a.m.
The woman and son, who was at the house during the incident, were able to escape the house before shots were fired and call police for help.
Police responded to the scene where they were unable to make contact with the man from outside the house.
A K-9 search was then conducted at 8 p.m., after a few hours of no contact with the man. He was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The time of death has yet to be determined because officers did not hear gunshots during their time at the house.
An autopsy is being conducted to get more details on the man’s death. The man’s name was being withheld pending the autopsy results.
A motive for the domestic violence and incident is under investigation.
