Dearborn man dies after car crash

DEARBORN — A Dearborn man was killed in a car crash Sunday evening after veering off the road and striking multiple traffic signs.

The crash occurred as the driver was traveling east on Ford Road near Hawthrone Street about 8:30 p.m. Feb. 21, police said.

Inside the Honda Accord were the driver and four passengers at the time of the incident, all 19-to 20-year-old males.

The front seat passenger, Hussein Alqadhi, 19, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital by emergency responders. He was later pronounced dead.

No one else in the vehicle was injured.

Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.

“This is a terrible tragedy and we are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the accident to please contact (police),” Police Chief Ronald Haddad said. “The Dearborn Police Department offers its condolences for all of those involved.”
