City Beautiful honors Residential Standard of Excellence winners

DEARBORN – The City Beautiful Commission presented the annual Residential Standard of Excellence awards Oct. 28 to homeowners judged to have maintained the appearance of their properties in an outstanding fashion.

Recipients of the 2015 awards are:

Ronald and Catherine Prowse, 3514 Brewster.
The Hamka family, 21800 Willoway.

Award citations were presented during a ceremony at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center. Winners were selected from each of the 17 districts created by City Beautiful commissioners to guarantee all sections of Dearborn are represented. Additionally, runner-ups in each district will receive a special display decal in the mail.

Mayor John O’Reilly Jr. thanked City Beautiful Commission members for their work in selecting the winners and joined them in honoring the awardees.

“Residents recognized by the City Beautiful Commission put forth that extra effort to keep their property attractive, and help make our entire community an appealing place to live,” said O’Reilly. “Thank you for taking pride in your homes and in our city.”

The Dearborn City Beautiful Commission recognizes homeowners whose extraordinary care and creativity make their property pop, whether they have a charming bungalow or an expansive showpiece. The awards help encourage all residents to keep their homes and gardens beautiful.

The 2015 City Beautiful award winning properties are featured in a video that will air a few times a day on the City of Dearborn Television (CDTV) on the following days and times: Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 7 a.m., 11 a.m., 3 p.m., 7 p.m., and 11p.m; Tuesday and Thursday at 8 a.m., 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday at 9 a.m., and 5 p.m. You can also watch the video online at cdtv.pegcentral.com.
