Police searching for larceny suspects

DEARBORN — Police are searching for two men involved in an auto break-in Aug. 26.

Officers responded to a house in the 2900 block of Cornell where the victim was able to provide surveillance video of the incident. The video shows the a man entering a unlocked black vehicle at 3:42 a.m., and searching around the inside vehicle.

Shortly after, a second man appears and attempts to enter the second vehicle, a white truck parked on the driveway. The man had no luck because the vehicle was locked.

Both men were described as white males, between 16 to 20 years old with thin builds.
The Police Department has been promoting its Lock It or Lose It campaign urging the public to make a conscientious effort to secure their vehicles.

““Crimes of opportunity are difficult crimes to solve but they are easy to prevent,” Police Chief Ronald Haddad said. “We ask the public to be steadfast in insuring their property is secured at all times because it only takes seconds to become a victim.”

Police are asking the public for help identifying the men involved in the break-in.
