String of home invasions in Allen Park

ALLEN PARK — The west end of the city — near Wick and Allen roads — has seen a string of home invasions.

Four homes have been invaded, all between noon and 5 p.m.

“The time of day is unusual,” Police Detective Jim Thorburn said. “It’s a bazarre.”

In each case three white males, between the ages of 17 to late 20s, are seen entering and leaving through the rear door of the home, but no one has been able to give a good description of the men. The men are taking small pocketable items, such as prescription medications and jewelry.

“Just super small things that you can throw in your pocket and go,” Thorburn said.

The men then leave the scene on foot or bike.

“Were encouraging people that if you see anything unusual, it probably is,” Thorburn said.

People with any information on the burglaries are asked to contact the Allen Park Police Department at 313-386-7800.
